Draft day

It is officially draft day out here in my neck of the woods. I am very excited. Unlike recent years, the Padres have a chance to truly add a premier, high impact player with their first pick, as it comes so high in the draft. Also, unlike recent years, they don’t have a bunch of supplemental picks, so it will be tougher to stockpile a bunch of solid prospects. Due to that, the first pick takes on extra significance. 

Anyway, my coverage here for the day will generally involve linking to stuff as it happens, or as I read something interesting. During the draft, I’ll probably essentially “live blog,” so if you’re into that, stop by. Give me your take.

Later on, either after the first day or the second (or who knows, even the third), I’ll provide some more “in-depth” analysis of some of the Padres’ picks at Friar Forecast (as well as here, I’m sure).
